20" (51 cm.) Bisque swivel head on bisque shoulderplate, very delicate pale complexion, blue glass enamel inset eyes with spiral threading, heavy eyelids, painted lashes, dark eyeliner, feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with pale outlined lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, muslin stitch-jointed body, bisque arms to above the elbows. Condition: generally excellent, body is of the same era, but not Bru production. Marks: H (head and shoulderplate). Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, the early smiling model with letter markings, circa 1867. Value Points: very beautiful doll with gentle kindly smile, finest delicate complexion with soft blushing on cheeks and eyelids, lovely antique costume, bonnet, undergarments, leather shoes.
