Description
24" (61 cm.) Standing upon a velvet-covered wooden base is a bisque head lady with bisque shoulder-plate, blue glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, lushly-painted lashes, brush-stroked brows, accented nostrils, outlined full lips of closed mouth, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, shapely carton lady body and legs, wire upper arms, bisque forearms. When wound, she nods, and turns her head from side to side, alternately looking into her lorgnette, and then lifting the fan as though to hide her face, while music plays. Condition: generally excellent, music and motion function well. Marks: Depose Tete Jumeau 6 (head). Comments: Roullet de Decamps, circa 1890. Value Points: a luxury larger size automaton, with very beautiful face, original costume and accessories, charming movements.
