Description
4" (10 cm.) x 3" largest. Each is a miniature painting of woman in original frame, the largest a semi-profile with clusters of curls at the side of her face and a ribbon-braided coronet at her crown, with faux-bone frame and having paper label on back indicating Princess Alexandra; 2" x 1 1/2" image of woman with long luxurious curls and with mauve wrap and hair scarf; and 2" x 1 1/2" image of 17th century young lady with red hair, elaborate lace collar and jewelry, and pencil noted on the reverse "Duchess L'Orange by Van Dyk [sic]" indicating it as a miniature copy of a painting by the Dutch artist. Excellent condition. Early-1800s.
