Description
7" (18 cm.) and 9". Each is all-bisque, depicting a young toddler with head tucked into stomach, over-sized bald pate, painted round blue eyes, button nose, upside-down comma-shaped lips, painted white smock, loop-jointed bisque arms, sculpted blue or rose bisque slippers. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Germany, circa 1915, the figures were designed by American artist, Charles Twelvetrees, who had made his fame designing character-like children for postcards and books. Value Points: wonderful characters, he with painted blue slippers, she with painted pink slippers, one in rare larger size, two with original paper labels.
