16" (41 cm.) The wooden framed cabinet with maroon velvet cover has cabriole-shaped legs, desk writing table with faux-drawer (which actually contains the music box), beaded trim above the arched doors, and beveled glass windows on the cabinet doors. When wound (key works well, but is not original), and doors opened, beautiful music plays. Some age wear to velvet, music box functions well. French, circa 1890, a very beautiful accessory furnishing for fashion dolls, with enhancement of delightful music.
