Description
8" (20 cm.) Each has solid domed bisque head with sculpted hair and painted facial features, the boy with side-parted black hair, and the girl with blonde bobbed hair and green cap, each with large round side-glancing eyes with sunburst-painted lashes, comma-shaped brows, tiny nose, "O"-shaped mouth, and each with firmly stuffed velvet body with painted details of fabric pattern, defined shoes, stitched-on arms. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: from the original designs of the Peek-a-Boo Children, illustrated by Chloe Preston in a series of children's stories and postcards, circa 1925, and produced in Germany by Schafer & Vater. Value Points: rare figures with original costume bodies.
