20" (51 cm.) All-cloth doll depicting slender-bodied older child, cloth socket head with shoulderplate, pressed and oil-painted facial features, shaded brown eyes, thick black, brown and red upper eyeliner, tinted brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth, blonde side-parted human hair, stitch-jointed at shoulders, disc-jointed legs. Condition: generally excellent, wear on toes, hair slightly trimmed. Marks: Kathe Kruse (feet, with illegible number). Comments: Germany, Kathe Kruse, Type VIII, the model known as "Deutsches Kind", 1927. Value Points: rare construction of the shoulderplate model has fine original painted finish, wearing pretty frock.
