20" (51 cm.) All-composition doll with socket head, very plump cheeks and chin, painted brown eyes, pronounced black eyeliner, smoky eyeshadow, feathered lashes, closed mouth with primly-set lips, fine brunette human hair, jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees. Condition: generally excellent, few tiny moth holes in coat. Marks: Burgarella Made in Italy (costume). Comments: Burgarella, circa 1930. Value Points: rare and sought-after doll in fine unplayed with condition, the doll wears her original vibrant turquoise and coal felt flannel costume with plush collar and cuffs and has original cloth label on petticoat.
