Description
8" (20 cm.) All-bisque figure of little Japanese girl with sculpted black hair in modeled topknot and having chrysanthemums at each side of face, painted large googly side-glancing eyes, sunburst-painted lashes, tiny nose, "O"-shaped mouth, painted green kimono with fancy decorations, oversized feet, holding tray. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: designed by Chloe Preston, the British illustrator of the Peek-a-Boo series of which this model was identified as "Little maiden from Japan" and made in Germany by Schafer & Vater, circa 1925.
