Description
7" (18 cm.) doll. 9" trunk. Bisque shoulderhead with brown sculpted hair drawn away from face into loose wide wings, and drawn into a tightly-coiled braided coiffure held by a sculpted bow, elongated throat, blue painted eyes, red and black upper eyeliner, single stroke brown brows, closed mouth, original muslin body, bisque lower arms and legs, painted black ankle boots. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Germany, circa 1875. Value Points: the doll, with rare brown hair, is presented in her domed-top wooden trunk that is covered with original marbled paper on the exterior and lined with early transfer-print paper, and paper illustration of Greenwich Hospital, and which contains an assortment of her handmade original costumes.
