Sculpted bisque shoulder head depicting the young English Princess at the the time of her sister's coronation,having oval face and elongated throat,brown sculpted hair in formally arranged curls,deeply sculpted blue eyes,painted lashes and brows,strong nose,closed mouth with full lips,sculpted gold and turquoise necklace,muslin stitch-shaped body,bisque arms to above the elbows,bisque lower legs with gold shoes. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: M. thompson Princess Margaret 1953. Comments: portrait doll of the British princess by the celebrated American artist. Value Points: very rare doll by Martha Thompson,with superb sculpting and painting,original body and wearing superb ivory satin costume.
