20" (51 cm.) All composition with socket head, painted shaded blue eyes, all-around brown eyeliner and painted lashes, red upper eyeliner, fringed brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with beautifully shaped upper lip, brunette human hair, jointed shoulders and hips, wearing cotton school outfit (possibly original) with attached matching panties, socks, shoes, and metal wrist tag. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Effanbee American Children (head) Effanbee Anne Shirley (torso). Comments: designed by Dewees Cochran for Effanbee American Children series, late 1930s. Value Points: beautiful intelligent gaze, fine original finish, original wig.
