20" (51 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate with modeled bosom and shoulderblades, amber brown glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, rose-blushed eye shadow, brushstroked and multi-feathered brows, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with outlined lips and tiny stuck-out tongue, pierced ears, brunette hand-tied human hair wig over cork pate, French kid slender bebe body with Chevrot-hinged hips, wooden lower legs, kid-over-wooden upper arms, bisque forearms. Condition: generally excellent except very faint 1 1/2" hairline on forehead from crown rim, one finger broken, body very sturdy. Marks: Bru Jne 7 (head and shoulderplate) (original Bebe Bru paper label on front torso). Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, circa 1885. Value Points: gorgeous face with superb modeling and painting, original body, lovely antique aqua silk costume, undergarments, socks and shoes.
