20" (51 cm.) All-cloth doll depicting slender-bodied older child, cloth socket head with shoulderplate, pressed and oil-painted facial features, shaded green eyes, thick black, brown and red upper eyeliner, tinted brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth, blonde side-parted human hair, stitch-jointed at shoulders, disc-jointed legs. Condition: generally excellent, some wear to finger tips and slight smudging of limbs. Marks: Kathe Kruse 4921 (feet). Comments: Germany, Kathe Kruse, Type VIII, the model known as "Deutsches Kind", 1927. Value Points: beautiful pensive-faced doll, made for one year only, has original finish and is wearing lovely muslin dress with Edelweiss embroidery.
