15" (38 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, blue glass inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes and brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, open mouth with outlined lips and double row of teeth, carton torso and full length carton skirt which encloses mechanical mechanism. When wound the doll glides forward and in circles, raising arms and crying "mama". Condition: generally excellent, one finger tip broken, mechanism functions well. Comments: Jules Steiner, circa 1867. Value Points: especially beautiful face on the early doll with elegant movements, wonderful original costume.
