13" (33 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, cobalt blue glass enamel inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with slightly upturned lips, ears pierced into head, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, French kid body with square cut collarette and gusset jointing at hips, knees and elbows, stitched and separated fingers, nicely costumed. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: D. Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, circa 1865. Value Points: rare early version of the deposed smiling poupee in captivating petite size, brilliant eyes, original wig and distinctive body.
