9" (23 cm.) x 9" The firm-sided box is entirely covered, on both inside and outside, in luxurious ivory silk satin, with tiny silk covered ball feet, and with a deeply-tufted cushion on the lid with brass frame and ormolu mounts; there is an ormolu escutcheon and working key. Excellent condition. French, circa 1880, the memory box was designed to preserve objects of the wedding day.
