Description
7" (18 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate with sculpted bosom and shoulderblades, plump cheeks, very deep blue glass inset eyes with spiral threading and dark outer rims, black eyeliner, rose- blushed eyeshadow, dark painted lashes, brushstroked and feathered brows, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with defined painted teeth between the outlined lips, pierced ears, pronounced chin, brunette hand-tied human hair wig over cork pate. Condition: generally excellent, small chip at bottom right shoulderplate corner. Marks: (crescent dot impression) Bru Jne 6 (back of head) No 6 (shoulderplate). Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, circa 1882, the doll was a transitional model between the so-called "circle/dot" bebe and the classic Bru Jne, and is rare to find. Value Points: rare painted teeth, gorgeous eyes, well-defined sculpting of features.
