18" (46 cm.) Earthenware flanged head with sculpted hair, small blue glass sleep eyes, closed mouth modeled as though open with row of sculpted teeth, tongue, impressed dimples, muslin torso, composition jointed arms and legs, nicely costumed. Condition generally excellent. Marks: Gladdie copyright by Helen Jenson. Comments: Gladdie, designed by American artist Helen Jensen, a portrait of her daughter, circa 1925, the doll was made in both bisque and earthenware. Value Points: well-preserved finish on cheerful character by known artist.
