8" (20 cm.) All wooden doll based upon the promotional figure of Mr. Peanut has peanut-shaped head and torso with painted features to depict a high society gentleman including monocle,wooden top hat and white gloves,with wood-segmented arms and legs,hole in right fist for holding cane (not included). Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Mr. Peanut. Comments: circa 1940. Value Points: promotional logo figure for Planterås Peanut,the figure first appeared in 1916 in a promotional contest sponsored by Planters; the figure was drawn by a Virginia schoolboy who won $5 for his "little peanut person". Value Points: colorful and amusing figure with wonderful detail of construction.
