Description
16" (41 cm.) Felt swivel head with pressed and painted facial features, large brown side-glancing eyes, brown curly upper lashes, closed mouth, brunette mohair bobbed wig, jointed shoulders and hips. Condition: very good, few smudges on face, costume missing cap and belt , two light spots on front of costume. Comments: Lenci, circa 1928, model 149/I, the doll is wearing her original grey felt aviatress costume with jodhpurs-style pants having lacing at the sides, reddish brown felt edging on pockets and collar, brown buttons and black shoes; the doll is said to be inspired by Amelia Earhart. Value Points: rare model with beautifully constructed costume.
