20" (51 cm.) Carved wooden shoulder head with bedpost-shaped head and rounded shoulder plate, on original wooden hollow tube with wooden base, having painted black hair with shaded detail, painted facial features, defined throat, the base with hand-painted decorative details in bands and stripes to simulate a bunting blanket. Condition: very good, original painted finish albeit fading and slight paint flake on nose. Comments: Germany, circa 1850. Value Points: rare tall size of the distinctive doll with original finish.
