17" (43 cm.) Paper mache shoulderhead of adult lady with strong elongated throat, sculpted black hair waved from her face into a coiled braided chignon decorated by a sculpted hair comb and enhanced by attached human hair curls around her forehead, painted pale blue eyes with dark iris edging, black upper eyeliner, feathered brows, closed mouth with shaded lips, blushed cheeks, slender kid body with wooden lower arms and legs, painted flat green shoes. Condition: generally excellent, two horizontal separations on the back shoulderplate, nose tip retouched. Comments: Germany, circa 1840. Value Points: elegant lady with original complexion, very rare coiffure style including both sculpted comb and attached curls, antique costume.
