12" (30 cm.) h. 18"w. Carved wood loveseat from the Louis XVI era has graceful lines,unusual low back and deep seat,original gold leaf finish on wood with wonderful patina,and powder-blue silk brocade upholstery. When the last Prince of Thurn & Taxi died in 1990,his wife was obliged to sell antiques from their Castle St. Emmeram in Regensburg to pay inheritance tax; the loveseat was acquired by Hanne B?ktas at this estate auction. Also included is an early carved wooden mirror with rich gilt finish. Generally excellent.
