Description
The 8" x 10" photograph depicts Richard Patterson, engineer who worked on the construction plans of the Balboa Island harbor during the National Recovery programs of FDR. He is shown explaining his plans to young Shirley Temple, and on the back of the photo he wrote, "I trust you have enjoyed your stay in Balboa and I appreciate the privilege of being photographed with such a charming little lady. Best wishes, Richard L. Patterson".
