18" (46 cm.) Bisque socket head with very slender face and elongated neck, strong throat and jaw line, very stylized features, blue glass inset eyes, aquiline nose, closed mouth, painted facial features, all-wooden carved body with musculature plump shape, jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, brunette wig, costume included. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Huret 4 (head) Huret Rue Boetie (impressed on back torso). Comments: Eliza Prevost, the final owner of the Huret firm, created a series of art dolls during the Renaissance of the French Dolls revival period of the early 20th century, of which this is one. The dolls are notable for their "strong personalities" according to The Encyclopedia of French Dolls by Theimer in which this doll is photographed.
