10" (25 cm.) One-piece wooden head and torso depicting a caricature of black woman with ebony complexion, large eyes, painted wide mouth with two rows of painted teeth, string arms with wooden hands, loosely-jointed wooden legs with pin-joints at hips and ankles. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: American, late 1800s, when a string is pulled at the side of the original wooden platform, the doll, which is wearing original costume, dances loosely about. Value Points: rare American wooden toy is all-original.
