22" (56 cm.) Bisque socket head, brown glass sleep eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes and brows, open mouth, four porcelain teeth, impressed dimples at lip corners, blonde mohair wig, composition and wooden ball-jointed body, antique multi-layered costume, socks and black leather shoes. Condition: generally excellent, two fingers broken on right hand. Marks: Simon & Halbig 550 (head) Gimbel Bros (stamp on body). Comments: Simon and Halbig, the doll was commissioned for presentation in the prestigious Philadelphia department store, circa 1900. Value Points: rare body label, original body and body finish, beautiful face and finest original soft mohair wig.
