Description

18" (46 cm.) Chip-carved wooden shoulder head with well-defined hair carving and little bun at back of head, painted facial features, elongated throat, hand-made linen body, wooden lower arms and legs, painted blue shoes with white buttons, antique costume. Condition: generally excellent, typical age wear. Comments: mid-19th century, the doll was featured in Estrid Faurholt's Book of Dolls and Dollhouses described thusly, "she is no beauty, but she is charming and funny".
