Description
17" (43 cm.) A bisque-head lady with blue glass paperweight inset eyes,painted lashes and brows,closed mouth with accented lips,pierced ears,and blonde mohair wig over cork pate,appears to be seated at an a fine mahogany upright piano with carved bone keyboard,ormolu candleholders,sheet-music,and with added bowl of silk flowers and pair of three-arm candelabra. When wound,the lady,who is wearing a rich silk and embroidered lace gown and matching bonnet,lifts her hands up and down over the keyboards as though playing the piano,while two different and lively tunes play. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Roullet et Decamps,the model #88 was depicted in their 1878 catalog. Value Points: rare and luxe automaton with charming movement and music
