Description
10" (25 cm.) and 12". Each has paper mache shoulder head with black sculpted hair waved from its face and formed into a braided chignon at the back of the head, painted complexion and facial features, slender kid body, wooden lower arms and legs, painted shoes. Condition: smaller is excellent, larger has repairs to body, and craquelure and retouch to paper mache. Comments: Germany, circa 1850. Value Points: the early paper mache lady dolls wear their original layered costumes.
