20" (51 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate with modeled bosom and shoulder blade, very plump cheeks and chin, brown glass paperweight inset eyes, black eyeliner, painted lashes, rose-blushed eye shadow, brush-stroked and feathered brows, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with outlined lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, plump kid bebe body with gusset-jointing of hips and knees, one-piece curved kid upper arms, bisque lower arms and hands. Condition: generally excellent, very faint 2" horizontal hairline on lower front shoulderplate, bisque head and hands perfect. Marks: Bru Jne 7 (head) No. 7 (shoulderplate). Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, his earliest bebe known as Bebe Brevete, circa 1877. Value Points: an especially beautiful bebe with most gentle expression and finest quality of bisque and painting, exquisite hands, lovely antique costume.
