19" (48 cm.) Bisque socket head with unusual theatrical complexion, slanted brown glass sleep eyes, mohair lashes, painted lower lashes, black brush-stroked brows, painted lower lashes, accented nostrils, open mouth, outlined lips, four porcelain teeth, dimpled chin, pierced ears, black mohair wig, original French composition fully-jointed body by Edmund Daspres (Steiner successor). Condition: generally excellent. Marks: SH 8 Dep 1099 (and red Geschutz stamp). Comments: Simon and Halbig for the French market, with original Steiner body, circa 1910. Value Points: very rare doll with rare complexion and original matching body, beautiful antique silk costume.
