14" (36 cm.) Solid domed paper mache shoulder head, tiny brown glass enamel eyes, painted lashes and brows, accented nostrils, slightly parted lips with tiny interior teeth, black painted pate, French kid poupee body with gusset-jointing at hips, knees and elbows, separately stitched fingers. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: for the French market, circa 1850. Value Points: beautifully preserved early doll wears her original nun's habit with detailed accessories.
