10" (25 cm.) Bisque socket head of older gentleman, brown glass inset eyes, brush-stroked grey brows, incised age lines outlined in red, prominent nose, closed mouth with full smiling lips, mohair wig and beard, composition and wooden fully jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: S 1 Germany. Comments: Dressel, circa 1895, the model also appeared as Uncle Sam. Value Points: the Farmer wears his original striped cotton shirt, overalls, and boots.
