Description
8" (20 cm.) largest. Each is carved wooden doll with painted black hair having stippled details around the face, defined yellow "tuck comb" at crown, painted facial features, articulated dowel-jointed shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, painted flat shoes. Condition: very good, each with well-preserved original finish albeit some typical rubs and few chips in hair and combs. Comments: Grodnertal, circa 1840. Value Points: the "family" includes two adult women, a rare child with rounded face, and a "doll" for the child, each wearing its original costume.
