Description
10" (25 cm.) A wooden box with faux-wood-grain finish has a glass front and displays a hand-painted seaside scene, with boat in the background, and posed center-stage a red-jacketed sailor that is hand-painted and hand-cut with jointing at waist and knees. An hourglass-like sand mechanism hidden at the back causes the sailor to dance a merry jig. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: mid-19th century, a rare toy with beautifully painted background and sailor, great action.
