Of maitrise quality,the Louis XVI style cabinet has burled rosewood veneers on curved front and side aprons,with cabriole leg,heavy glass display table top with beveled glass,gold leaf painted table edges with ogee shape,and superb applied gilt bronze mounts on the table aprons and legs and with original lock and key for the interior. The velvet lined interior has a hidden compartment which encloses a music box whose keys are actually disguised knobs side trim,and has pull-string mechanism (needs adjustment,but has superb quality of music). French,mid-19th century,the luxury quality indicates its original presentation by prestige store such as Maison Giroux.
