Description
21" overall. 4" engine. A soft metal train set with tinplate bases and track is hand-painted in fantasy colors, comprising engine and five cars, each with working spoked wheels. The set includes engine with sculpted smoke and smokestack, and gilded name plate "Vulcan", open cattle car, closed cattle car, two passenger cars with passengers busy at various activities (man reading a paper, children playing with toys) and a small coal car; five pieces of tinplate track are included. Structurally excellent, some typical paint flaking. Mid/late 19th century.
