8" (20 cm.) h. The thick paste porcelain box with wicker-embossed base to simulate a basket has a lid upon which is posed a seated baby with black sculpted hair, painted blue eyes, closed mouth, holding a toy trumpet, and with a Polichinelle doll at his feet, wearing purple tunic and clown hat. And thick-paste porcelain trinket box depicting a child in bed, sculpted dress at the foot of bed, and a little doll at her side, with front script "The child's prayer". Generally excellent, circa 1850.
