Description
11" (28 cm.) Solid domed bisque head with flanged neck, blonde sculpted hair, intaglio painted blue eyes with large black pupils, single stroke brows, dark eyeliner, closed mouth with "O" shaped "whistling" hole in mouth, muslin body with bellows in torso, jointed hips and shoulders, composition hands. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Heubach (square) 8774 Germany 2. Comments: Gebruder Heubach, circa 1910, when bellows is squeezed the doll "whistles". Value Points: the doll wears original striped romper suit and cardboard label "Whistling Jim".
