The cloth-covered paper mache one-piece figure of handsome adult man has painted brown hair and painted facial features, blue side-glancing eyes, fringed brows, closed mouth in wide beaming smile with center row of teeth, slender tall body in elegant pose. Condition: very good, smudge on right side of face. Comments: in his book, Fascinating Dolls, Samy Odin wrote "Maurice Chevalier [was] discovered at an antique shop in Valencia, whose owner had been waiting, he said, for several decades for the right person to come along who would adopt this unusual doll which had come from a legendary cabaret in the City of Light.". Value Points: the unique figure wears his original black woolen formal suit, with pearl stickpins, black bow tie, and the classic Chevalier straw bowler.
