15" (38 cm.) Paper mache head with flanged neck, white complexion, painted black skull cap, painted facial features, brown eyes with grey eye shadow, black single stroke brows, closed mouth with bow-shaped lips, wire upper arms and legs, composition hands and lower legs, and wooden block torso with bellows which, when squeezed, cause Pierrot to clap the cymbals he holds in his hands. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: SFBJ 257 Paris. Comments: SFBJ, circa 1920. Value Points: the cymbal clapping clown has fine original facial painting with dramatically painted eyes and black beauty spot, bellows functions well, original satin Pierrot costume; also included (not shown) are two additional hand-puppet Pierrots in fair condition.
