14" (36 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, original nursing rubber ball inside head and round bone turning knob at back of head, round face with very full cheeks and chin, blue glass eyes with darker blue iris rims, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, brushstroked and feathered brows, mauve blushed eye shadow, accented nostrils and eye corners, open mouth with interior wall having nipple-shaped hole to accommodate to bottle nipple, outlined lips, pierced ears, blonde lambswool wig over cork pate, kid bebe body with curved upper kid arms, bisque arms from below the elbow, separately-sculpted fingers, gusset-jointing at hips and knees. Condition: generally excellent, body is especially sturdy and fresh, perfect bisque hands. Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, the very earliest model of his Bebe Teteur, circa 1879, as evidenced by its early Brevete face and by the bone turning knob. Value Points: extremely rare first period Bebe Teteur is superbly preserved, with very beautiful face and bisque, near mint body, and wearing original white pique costume, undergarments, leather shoes, earrings, ruffled bonnet, and carrying original baby bottle in little box.
