Description
8" (20 cm.) Polychromed terra cotta donkey posed in resting manner, its legs folded under, with painted dark grey and cream hide, patches of cream around the eyes, chest and muzzle, enamel eyes, defined tail, mane, nostrils and ears. Excellent condition. Neapolitan, late 1700s/early 1800s, attributed to Francesco Gallo who was a modeler at the Royal Porcelain Factory specializing in animals.
