9" (23 cm.) The soft-paste majolica figurine depicts a Brownie Policeman standing upon a self-base which simulates stony ground; he wears a blue policeman's uniform as officer 88, and his cap has an open top designed for use as candle holder. Incised 8886 from the series. Excellent condition. Circa 1895, inspired by the Palmer Cox Brownie illustrations.
