7" (18 cm.) Standing upon a cast iron base is William Tell, having very elaborate caped uniform and cap, and with nodding head, a rifle held in his extended hands, aimed at the apple on the head of a young boy standing in the doorway of the cast iron fort. When a coin is placed in the rifle barrel and William's right foot pressed, he nods forward, and the rifle releases the coin toward the apple on the boy's head, and then is captured into the bank. Generally excellent, original parts and functioning mechanism, original painted finish with some minor rubs. American, circa 1896, J. & E. Stevens.
