11" (28 cm.) The wooden-framed chair has original bronze-green painted finish with carved details,dark green and gilt accents,and painted roses and leaves,with silk brocade upholstery at the back,and covering the "seat" which removes to actually form the lid of a luxury bon-bon or chocolate box. Generally excellent. French,circa 1880,luxury bon-bon boxes such as this were offered by prestigious Parisian chocolatiers such as Marquise de Sevigne. This example is particularly rare,well-preserved and perfectly-sized for display with poupees.
