17" (43 cm.) Bisque socket head, brown glass sleep eyes, painted lashes, brush-stroked and feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth, accent line between the lips, blonde mohair wig over plaster pate, composition and wooden ball-jointed body, wearing antique white-wear dress, undergarments, lace ruffled bonnet, stockings, leather boots. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: XI. Comments: Kestner, circa 1885. Value Points: superb virtually unplayed with condition of the beloved closed mouth child, gentle expression enhanced by fine luminous patina of bisque.
