Description
8" (20 cm.) Carved wooden man, socket head with two-part head, painted black complexion, painted eyes with pronounced whites and black pupils, closed mouth, wooden body jointed at shoulders and hips. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Schoenhut, circa 1909, described in their catalog as "African Chief" from the Adventures in Africa series. Value Points: rare to find figure with fine original finish, wearing original top hat, purple felt jacket, muslin pants with decorated sash.
